Part of the Quartz family, the formation of Tiger's Eye is a complex geological process involving the replacement of crocidolite by quartz and other minerals. The resulting combination of quartz and fibrous inclusions gives rise to the distinct chatoyant effect and beautiful patterns that make Tiger's Eye a highly valued gemstone.
 
Tiger's eye is a a commonly seen as a golden/brown stone, but may have variations of blue and even some occasional veins like hematite and even magnetite. It is said to have many metaphysical properties, including:

Properties
Tiger's eye is a chatoyant gemstone, meaning it has a silky, wavy shimmer or luminescent band that resembles a cat's eye. It's usually subtranslucent to opaque, with a hardness of 6.5–7 and a silky sheen. Tiger's eye is typically roughly striped and can range in color from golden or honey yellow to various shades of brown, blue, and even occasionally red.
